hide and seek presents bodies in two unrelated scenes. In one, a person uses a small, unfamiliar device in a tiled bathroom. In the other, a figure covered in ash occupies an enclosed concrete room. Both bodies undergo different

treatments whose purpose remains unclear. The actions could belong equally to medical care, cosmetic routines, spiritual practice or private rituals, yet never settle into any single interpretation.

The work draws on modern gothic, where ritual, bodily transformation and mystery repeatedly re-emerge during periods of social uncertainty. Rather than relying on familiar gothic imagery, Hide and Seek explores whether a similar atmosphere can arise through ordinary gestures and everyday spaces in an age shaped by technological intervention in the body, the lingering effects of the pandemic, and mediated warfare.

As narrative recedes, attention shifts towards gestures and objects that might otherwise pass unnoticed. The gestures remain recognisable, but recognition no longer leads to understanding.
